The engagement tab displays the emails guests have agreed to share with your restaurant to be contacted in marketing emails or for follow-up about their dining experience.
Opting in is optional for all guests, so any emails you see displayed are GDPR compliant.
The large-sized number under Emails is how many emails you've received from guests in the selected time period on the top right.
You can adjust to longer periods, different venues, and service styles, to see trends over time and make adjustments based on the reporting.
To use the emails to contact your guests, you can select the Download Guest Emails button. This will download a .csv of all the emails your brand has ever received, rather than your selected time period. However, you can filter on the CSV for a time period.
Permissions
Each brand has its own settings on who gets to see these emails, to ensure they are compliant with GDPR. These settings, for example, may only allow one marketing executive to have access to guest emails, while some manage it among their General managers.
If you only see 0 reviews, no matter the time period, it's likely your permission is restricted to this page. Please reach out to your head office if you think you should have access to this page.
Responding to guest emails:
If you have access to guest emails, you'll also have the option to respond directly to a review from the live page. If a guest leaves an email to opt-in to be contacted, you'll see an envelope icon next to their review information on the live page.
You can click to respond, which will open up the default email inbox on your computer. You can go into your computer settings to set up an alternative default inbox; this functionality is not overseen by Yumpingo.
