Remove Menu Items - Archive, Hide, Delete

To remove a menu item, you have three options. These are Archive, Hide and Ignore.

Archive

________________________________________________________________________________

The archive feature is useful if you have a menu item that has been on a live menu and has been reviewed at least once but is no longer available at the restaurant. In order to keep the past insights and reporting for this item, but take it off a menu, you can archive this item.

  • Go to Settings > Menu management > Items.
  • Click on the item you want to archive.
  • Click on the archive button in the top right.
  • Click the Yes, archive option in the pop-up.

To view all archived items (and unarchive them) go to the Archived items options in the menu management Item tab.

Delete

_______________________________________________________________________________

The Delete feature is useful if you've made a mistake creating a menu item and you definitely won't need it again (once you delete it's gone forever!). You can only delete an item if it's never been reviewed by a guest. Once an item has been removed, you can only archive it- which will still remove it from guest reviews.

  • Go to Settings > Menu management > Items.
  • Click on the item you want to delete.
  • Click on the delete icon (trash can) in the top right.
  • Click the Yes, delete an item in the pop-up.

Ignore (POS connected)

_______________________________________________________________________________

You may also wish to completely hide an item on a POS-connected menu that is not useful for a guest to review. For example, ''extra pickles'' will be an item on the POS system that will be commonly used but have no need to gather reviews. You can only hide items that are newly ingested and haven't been assigned (unlinked) to a dish item.  If an item has already been linked with a match, you can instead choose to archive the item. Find out more about ePOS/integrated menus here.

  • Go to Settings > Menu management > Items
  • If there are newly ingested menu items, you will see them on the unlinked items list

  • Click on the View button to see the full list.
  • To hide the item, click the hide icon and press Yes, ignore item.
